Shirley Boyde Memorial Lecture
Supported by the Shirley Boyde Trust, the Shirley Boyde Memorial Lecture is to be given by a leading scientist in an important area of research.
Established in 1989 in memory of Mrs. Shirley Boyde, the Shirley
Boyde Trust was funded by family and friends; to a much less extent by
donations from the business community of Hong Kong. The Trust exists to
support original scientific research in medical topics or directed at
improved conservation of wildlife and the environment.

Dr. Veronica Lam Memorial Lecture
The Dr. Veronica Lam Memorial Lecture is sponorsed by the Veronica M.S. Lam Memorial Fund. Dr. Veronica Lam, a long-serving member of the Department, died tragically with her daughter in the Tsunami on Boxing Day, 2004. The Fund was set up by Veronica's husband Mr. Peter Lam and her son, Mr. Cyril Lam in memory of Dr. Veronica Lam. The aim of the Fund is to enrich and expand the scientific horizons of students and staff, and to inspire them in their learning and research by sponsoring visits and lectures by eminent scientists. Apart from delivering a public lecture and research seminars, they will spend time with our postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows and academic staff.
