Overview of Undergraduate Education
The Department is responsible for the teaching of biochemistry to the first and second year medical students in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme.
In addition to teaching medical students in their pre-clinical years, the Department of Biochemistry also offers a Major in Biochemistry to Bachelor of Science students from the Faculty of Science.
In collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, we also offered a BSc (Bioinformatics) programme between 2001 and 2011.
Our staff members are also involved in the teaching of courses and tutorials to students in following degree programmes:
- Bachelor of Dentistry (year 1)
- Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (year 1)
- Bachelor of Nursing (year 1 and 2)
- BEng Medical Engineering programmes (year 1-3)
